Visualize Value

Founded 2019, New York City.

An ongoing practice of turning ideas into images.

Visualize Value started in January 2019 as a daily practice: one black-and-white image distilling an idea about leverage, value, or independent thinking. Published on Instagram and X, the visuals spread without ad spend or distribution deals.

The practice became a product line. The Daily Manifest, a single-page planning system, was the first product. Courses on leverage, positioning, and proof of work followed. By the end of 2020, VV had done over $1 million in sales. No agency, no gatekeepers. Ideas, presented clearly, shared freely.

In 2021 the visual practice evolved into fine art on Ethereum. 1-of-1 pieces led to larger experiments: Checks, an onchain composable artwork that generated over $250 million in secondary volume. Opepen, an open-source art protocol with 16,000 tokens evolving through community consensus. Generative work with Red Bull Racing and Art Blocks. A silver sculpture with Asprey. Silver gelatin prints shown at Paris Photo. Monoprints auctioned at Christie’s.

Today, Visualize Value publishes visual ideas about work, markets, technology, culture, and human behavior. The archive is the practice. Projects expand the ideas, courses teach the method, tools put it to work, and physical objects let people own it.

Jack Butcher

b. 1988, Swindon, England. Lives and works in Tennessee.

Jack Butcher is a conceptual artist and founder of Visualize Value. His practice examines markets, scarcity, consensus, and the mechanics of belief through visual systems that function as both explanations and critiques.

He studied graphic design at the University of Wales, Cardiff. He moved to New York in 2010 and spent the next decade at agencies creating work for brands including Ferrari, Showtime, and Godiva. Eventually he ran his own agency with his wife, Celia.

Good clients. Good work. Bad model. Every dollar required another hour. The agency was successful, but the model was not. He was building someone else’s leverage while depleting his own.

In 2019 he walked away and started Visualize Value as a daily practice: one black-and-white image distilling an idea about leverage, value, or independent thinking. The practice became a product line spanning courses, tools, art, and physical objects. Visualize Value passed $1 million in sales by the end of 2020.

The work has since been shown and sold at Christie’s, Art Basel, Paris Photo, and Sotheby’s. His projects have generated over $1 billion in Ethereum network sales since 2021.
